Cars.com’s 2025 Best Value New Cars Report

Two 2025 KIA models were named in the Best Value New Cars Report from Cars.com. These two models were the 2025 KIA Sorento and the 2025 KIA Soul.

Awarded Models

The 2025 model year for the KIA Sorento took home its first award in the Midsize SUV segment. The 2025 KIA Soul was a finalist for the second year in a row in the Compact SUV segment.

Cars.com awards models in nine categories:

• Midsize SUVs

• Midsize pickup trucks
• Full-size pickup trucks
• Electric vehicles

The models awarded offer the best value for the price as determined by the features included and the average price in each category.

The KIA Sorento includes three rows of seating with a vast array of safety features, making it a winning choice for families. When you add affordability to a vehicle focused on safety and space, you have an award-winner. Cars.com spokesperson said that it was rare to find so much SUV for the money, which is why it was named the Best Value Mid-Size SUV.

Criteria for Awards

To be considered for the award from Cars.com, a vehicle must be equipped with specific features:

• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Automatic transmission
• Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection
• Blind spot monitoring
• Lane departure warning
• Brake assist

The judges look at a low trim level that has all these features and estimates annual fuel cost or charging costs based on the EPA. The vehicles must also be priced under the average price for the segment. Warranty coverage, fuel grade requirements, and seating capacity in a truck weren’t considered, but they were included for long-term value.

The vehicles named in Cars.com’s awards aren’t just the least expensive or most affordable. They combine affordability with value to help buyers get the most out of their choices. For instance, the KIA Sorento includes numerous driver assistance features and many standard comfort amenities.

The report was first introduced in 2023, and KIA has been part of the list every year. In 2023, the KIA Rio won for Best Small Car. In 2024, KIA had three nominations, including the Forte, Soul and EV6.

The 2025 KIA Soul features four trims, including the sporty GT-Line. This model year features the Soulmate Special Edition with a two-tone roof, lower body cladding, 18-inch alloy wheels exclusive to this model, Umber interior color, and more. A power driver seat with power lumbar and leather-wrapped steering wheel are available on higher trims along with other comfort and convenience features.
